William Patrick

William Patrick dreamed of becoming a pilot.
He joined the US Air Corps (previous name of the US Air Force) but injured his eardrum.
He decided to ask for a position in the same squadron, nevertheless, and helped build airfields during the liberation of Europe, as pictures show (right), in Normandy, near Saine-Mère-Église.
This article was available to us thanks to Ian.
He came and made a talk to a school group. From the interview, a chapter was written for our collection of accounts, printed in May 2019 in French and 2020 in English.
