Albert Figg's account,
shared in a most particular and privileged way...
Translating the memoirs of a British veteran
13 of our students have helped translate Albert Figg's autobiography, The ups and downs of a gunner.
Between December and February
(2016-2017), they took on the challenge of translating each one, five and sometimes up to twenty pages!
Esther Bihel, one of the students, drew a map that allow people to follow Mr Figg when he was in Normandie in the summer of 1944.
Esther & Gaëlle from our school (their teacher, right) worked with Raphaëlle and Fabienne (Argentan). All are thrilled about meeting Albert Figg and hand him their work (clic on the picture to read the article in Ouest France)
The battle for Hill 112 is not well known in France as in the UK, despite being called "Verdun in Normandy".
