Dear Sir or Madam,

 

We are proud to present our book, result of an original project and, we hope, an original way of celebrating the 76th anniversary of the landings in Normandy as well as the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe.

 

The book “I was there, 15 eye-witness accounts of WW2” should have been edited and presented to WW2 veterans and eye-witnesses of the war in June as a sign of gratitude for sharing their accounts of WW2 with students from a High School in Évreux: Lycée Léopold Sédar Senghor (Normandy, France).

 

Alas, the epidemic has jeopardized this project. However, we may still be able to have this book printed by June, so as to hand it over to the contributors of the book to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of WW2 and the 76th anniversary of D-Day.

 

By purchasing this collection of accounts,

 

         - You will show these eye-witnesses and veterans the deep respect we owe them;

         

         - You will help the school involved in the project to achieve its goal: to have the book delivered in time to those who have shared their personal accounts with them.

         

        - You will contribute to helping the association Deep Respect continue its mission to help keep WW2 memories alive;

 

         - You will help a local editor in Bayeux, Normandy to overcome the economic crisis linked to the Covid-19 epidemic;
